IBM UltraConnect Antenna

IBM/Lenovo UltraConnect

UltraConnect was IBM's, now Lenovo's name for the built-in antennas that could support the 802.11a and the 802.11b wireless networking standard. It has gone through two iterations, one which is just UltraConnect, and the other which is UltraConnect II. These names seemed to have fallen out of use, and are no longer mentioned in any recent documents.

The UltraConnect antennas are built into the top portion of the ThinkPad's display lid, and are connected to a wireless network controller.
