What is Kubuntu?
Kubuntu is a Linux distribution that is based on and part of the Ubuntu project. The difference is that where Ubuntu's desktop and applications are based on GNOME, Kubuntu's are based on KDE. As its brother, Kubuntu has a regular release cycle of six months, a clear focus on the user and usability (it should "Just Work", TM) and a commitment to security updates with 18 months of support for every release.
