Hi. I removed your assertion that Turbo Boost works on the W510, because I run a modern distro with a modern kernel and it sometimes doesn't work--I haven't figured out why it sometimes works and sometimes doesn't. I normally test with i7z on AC power while burning one core with "cat /dev/urandom > /dev/null".

I'm using Archlinux with laptop_mode, and I can't remember whether there are any other cpu-modifying programs I have installed. But I'll revert my statements about turbo boost, because I haven't noticed it not working in a while (I've also been too busy to test it, most of the time). I've defitely seen this problem, but I have no idea whether it persists, or how to reliably test it.
