Unable to create recovery cds when another python is installed on the system

This problem occured on a Thinkpad T43p. It will propably occur on other models as well.

Some preinstalled IBM tools depend on python 2.2 installed in In C:\IBMTOOLS\Python22. If you have installed another, newer, python on your system, you migth be unable to run the program that creates recovery cds (reccd).

You can work around this problem like this:

Start a command prompt. Navigate to C:\IBMTOOLS. Run the cd recovery python script directly like this: Python22\python.exe utils\spi\reccd.pyc.

The program should start collecting data, and after a while you are prompted to choose a cd recorder, and to insert a disk.
