Talk:Trident Cyber9320

It's interesting that the page states that this card is supported by the "trident" driver in Xorg, while the documentation makes no mention of it. In any case, the best I've managed to eek out of this driver on my 9320-equipped 760EL is a 1-bit display, followed by an interesting corruption of the VRAM, resulting in only the letters J, K, L, M, N, O, Z, and punctiuation remaining in the console.

If no one challenges my thoughts on this idea and I don't manage to get it running within the next week, I will change the page to reflect that it is indeed not supported.

You might be right, this chip is getting rather old and when the XFree86 team ported the Trident code from the old XFree86 3.3.x generic SVGA driver to the XFree86 4.x 'trident' driver they dropped some chips, and it seems this might be one of them.

You can try using the current x.org 'vesa' driver, as I suspect the chip will at least be VESA compatible, if that does not work al you can do is either use the 'vga' driver or fall back to XFree86 3.3.x
