NOTE!
IBM originally used the CamelCase 'UltraBay' formatting, but later switched to the standard 'Ultrabay' formatting with a small letter 'b'.

This page provides a list of known Ultrabay devices. For more information regarding device compatibility and the Ultrabay slot itself, see the Ultrabay page. For Linux support details, check the devices' individual pages for more information.

If you are not sure of what do some of these icons represent, please refer to this mini-legend below:
Floppy Drive/Floppy Drive - A 3-mode floppy disk drive, reads and writes to 3.5-inch 1.44MB, 1.25MB and 720KB floppies. Doesn't read or write to 2.88MB floppies, unless it is stated to be capable of doing so.
Optical Drive - A CD-ROM, CD-R, and CD-RW reader. It cannot write to any of these CDs.
Optical Drive - A CD-ROM, CD-R, and CD-RW reader plus writer. It can write to any of these CDs.
Optical Drive - A DVD-ROM, DVD-R, and DVD-RW reader, it can also read CDs as it is backward-compatible. Some DVD-ROM drives are able to read dual-layer DVD, or DVD+, or DVD-RAM media. However, not all DVD drives can read such media unless it is stated to be capable of doing so. It cannot write to any of these DVDs.
Optical Drive - A mixture of a Optical Drive and a Optical Drive drive. The same limitations apply, if there are any.
Optical Drive - A mixture of a Optical Drive and a Optical Drive drive that additionally writes to DVDs. This is also used to identify Blu-ray readers/writers, confusingly. The same limitations apply, if there are any.
