ThinkPad SL series

The SL series was developed as a short-lived, indirect successor of the discontinued R series.

Due to the SLx00 models' IdeaPad-like qualities, they had AMI as their BIOS vendor, instead of Phoenix as their BIOS vendor. Certain changes were also performed on the embedded controller, which caused a lot of ThinkPad-specific drivers and utilities to not function on the SLx00 models.

The SL series was eventually discontinued, and branched out to form the E series (continuing from the SLx00) and the L series (continuing from the SLx10).
