Linux driver
The Linux driver from SmartLink should work.
Latest version of this driver is 2.9.10 and supports both the 2.4 and 2.6 kernels
However, the smlink driver does not seem to work on the newer Intel ICH6 controllers used on the T43 modems.
Otherwise you can try the hsf driver from linuxant.
Problems getting this modem to work are mentioned here Installing Debian on a ThinkPad_G41
I've tried the linuxant driver in a debian distribution , and it works at the firts shot. just dpkg -i hsfblablabla.deb, it'll ask you for the code. You put 'FREE' and you get the 14.4k limited version, but it works. If you want full access, it's 15 USD. Anyway, I fought all I can with smlink and I couldn't.
