This is an DVD Writer for the UltraBay Slim with a flat bezel as found, for example, in the UltraBase X6.

The catalog describes this item as "ThinkPad Ultrabay Slim DVD Burner".

The label on the drive reads "lenovo DVD MULTI", followed by the optical drive symbol, followed by "III". See photo.

If connected at boot time, the drive is /dev/hdc. [Check this]
