ok, I just saw the [[Ricoh_R5C811]] page, but since I don't have firewire, is it still that chipsed in my T43p?

Yes it is, it just 'emulates' the old R5C476-II for backward compatibility

and for the firewire part, they just disable that function of the chip on some models.

Yes it is, it just 'emulates' the old R5C476-II for backward compatibility and for the firewire part, they just disable that function of the chip on some models.
