This is an adapter that slides into a Serial Ultrabay Slim.

  1. This HDD adapter requires a caddy tray/bracket to be screwed onto the 2.5-inch storage drive, however if that is not possible, the screws can be used instead of the caddy tray/bracket.

Advice for 3rd party clones

Certain clones are built in such a way that they unintentionally create a poor connection to the Ultrabay's connector, which can be seen here:

Try to avoid these clones, as the chance of the adapter making contact with the Ultrabay will be very low or the connection may be loose and unreliable.

If possible, try to find clones such as this adapter, as pictured above. This ensures a reliable connection as the contact with the Ultrabay is not blocked by any additional plastic.

Linux support

If connected at boot time, the drive is normally /dev/sdb.
