Category:I Series
ThinkPad i seriesThe i series was developed as a low-cost machine line, with the intent of bringing even more affordable ThinkPads to the market. They were generally cheaper than the 300 series, which is already a budget ThinkPad line-up. Most of the models were known to be manufactured by Acer, and mostly contained TravelMate hardware in a IBM-like case. Some of the models were duplicates of the A series, X series, 200 series, and the 500 series, but with much less features and lower performance. Note that the first wave of i series models (MT 2611) used a different power inlet than most ThinkPads: a 19 volt supply and a 5.5 x 2.1mm connector. Wave two (MT 2621), and all newer models in the series, have the ordinary 5.5 x 2.5mm 16 volt power inlet. |
