my /usr/src/linux-source-2.6.23/.config
As this is rather a lot of info (and probably highly specific to my T60 and my needs), I decided I'd post it on my user page. The idea though is that someone else might get some mileage out of it. I'm using Debian etch/sid. I followed the instructions here to compile it. Most notably for some, I have suspend to disk working and have built all the necessary modules in so that I don't need (or use) an initial ramdisk. I don't know if this is good or bad, but it works and I figured simpler was better. And of course not to forget my impetus for messing around with kernel compilation at all, my source tree has been patched with this hdaps-protect patch using
patch -p1 < disk-protect.patch
while in my /usr/src/linux-source-2.6.21/ directory.
Finally, beware, I may have been a little heavy handed in my elimination of unnecessary modules and options. If you need something special that I have removed, make sure you have it enabled. Finally this is very much a work in progress. Like I'm sure is the case for just about everyone, there are Kernel options who's purpose or meaning may always elude me.
