Problem with red display shadow

Information about the red shadow display problem in Thinkpad models from 2003/2004.
Problem description
The internal display of the Thinkpad shows a kind of red shadow of the previous content when the screen changes to black. It seems to be caused by a very slow readjustment rate of the red subpixels.

Solutions
You can probably have IBM replace your display.
