ThinkPad i series

The i series was developed as a low-cost machine line, with the intent of bringing even more affordable ThinkPads to the market. They were generally cheaper than the 300 series, which were already much cheaper than the other expensive series.

Most of the models were known to be manufactured by Acer, and mostly contained TravelMate hardware in a IBM-like case. Some of the models were duplicates of the A series, X series, 200 series, and the 500 series, but often with much less features and lower performance. Note that the first wave of the i series models (MT 2611) used a different power inlet than most ThinkPads: a 19 volt supply and a 5.5 x 2.1mm connector. Wave two (MT 2621), and all newer models in the series, have the ordinary 5.5 x 2.5mm 16 volt power inlet.
