Anyone figure out how to make the Trackpoint scrolling work exactly as intended (as it works under Windows)? With Ubuntu, the middle mouse button pastes text. I want to scroll any app (or even long drop down lists) when I hold the middle mouse button and push the Trackpoint.

I have a ThinkPad T61p with nVidia Quadro FX 570M. The Ubuntu 7.10 live CD will not install even in safe graphics mode. The alternate CD (text install) does install, but even the vesa driver does *not* work. The X server will not start with any driver or any combination of settings I have tried. UPDATE: I finally got it working. I installed from the Alternate CD (text install) using the i386 version and followed the steps in this article.
