Hi Spiney,
Care to have a look at the new Talk:ACPI_fan_control_script#Sensor-specific_variable-speed_script? It has various improvements, and while at it I want to change the license from public domain to GPL+GFDL.

I'll try to give the new version a try as soon as possible, but I'm quite busy atm, so it might take a couple of days until I can provide some feedback. Regarding the license change, that's fine with me, after all I didn't do much anyway. :)
BTW, the theft-alert script already scared away a waiter in a cafe once, that'll show em that pushing around other people's notebooks is a big no-no. ;)
