Display on the internal LCD works as long as you set the monitor settings correct.
External VGA port
Works fine using ATI driver version 8.19.10 configured with fglrxconfig into clone mode (display shows full resolution, external CRT shows full resolution with higher refresh rate). This was tested using SuSE 9.2 with a Thinkpad T43p.
