The CF Card slot (Compact Flash) is found on select ThinkPads.
This is a CF+ Type II slot.
PCI based CompactFlash
This is implemented as a PCI device, that can support both CF memory cards, and CF IO cards (e.g. Bluetooth or WiFi).
Linux support
This is handled by the Linux PCMCIA subsystem.
Models featuring this Technology
USB based CompactFlash
This is implemented as a USB device, and can only support CF memory cards.
Linux support
This is handled by the Linux USB Storage subsystem (usb-storage).
