There is no 2722-BBG. However, if that is a 2722-B3G, these would be the specs:

This is '''not''' a general problem of all thinkpads and all port replicators, so I have removed the only report so far to the talk page.  Please update the topic, and when we get some sort of idea of what is affected by what, we can update the main page.

I have this Port replicator and was wondering if the DVI port is incompatable with my system. I have Thinkpad R40 2722-BBG. Thanks,

There is no 2722-BBG. However, if that is a 2722-B3G, these would be the specs: Product: ThinkPad R40 2722-B3G Operating system: All [change] Original description: P M 1.4GHz, 256MB RAM, 40GB HDD, 15 XGA(1024x768) TFT LCD, 32MB ATI Radeon 7500, 24x10x24x/8x CD-RW/DVD, Wireless upgradeable(MPCI), Modem(CDC), 10/100 Ethernet(LOM), Secure Chip, 8 cell Li-Ion battery, WinXP Pro

This computer uses an ATI Radeon 7500 video chip set that supports a DVI port on a dock or port replicator. It may be able to run dual external monitors, one each attached to the DVI and VGA ports.

There is almost no documentation on which systems support DVI, and which do not.

If I where to guess, I would say no, but the best way to find out is to simply attach a DVI display and see if it works.

If you find out, either way, let us know.

Is it really compatible with the R52 (1860), it's not listed on the IBM/Lenovo website [[1]].

Thank you

I have a T43 2668-71U with ATI Mobility Radeon X300 graphical card and a DELL 2408WFP 24 inch LCD (1920x1200).

I tested the DVI connection between the laptop and the LCD with both ThinkPad Port Replicator II (FRU: 74P6733) and ThinkPad Mini-Dock (FRU: 62P4551). They work very stable at the native 60Hz refresh rate. (DVI cable is the original one shipped with the LCD)

The operating system is Ubuntu Linux 8.04 (hardy) and the graphic card driver is the open source driver: xserver-xorg-driver-ati.

Limitations of video signal output

Apparently, some thinkpad port replicators II and some thinkpads don't play well with the video signal when connected.

This is not a general problem of all thinkpads and all port replicators, so I have removed the only report so far to the talk page. Please update the topic, and when we get some sort of idea of what is affected by what, we can update the main page.
