Linux X.Org driver

Default X.Org NVidia driver, called "nv" works.

ThinkPad LCD

Display on the internal LCD works as long as you set the monitor settings correct in order to achieve the proper resolution.

Proprietary NVidia driver

Nvidia hadrware accelerated driver installation is basically the same on every Linux with NVidia card. Here you can find a gentoo guide: [1]

Quick summary:

First, you need a kernel module. On Debian, you can install it using module-assistant, type

m-a a-i nvidia

Make sure you have the module loaded, when you run X.

Second, get the latest X driver from NVidia. The page is [2]. It will install the driver. Then, you have just to tweak X config to use module "nvidia" in place you've used module "nv".

Linux kernel Framebuffer driver

Works, but could cause conflicts with propertiary drivers in some situations.
