Ultrabay Slim CD-RW/DVD-ROM Combo Drive

This is an CD-RW/DVD-ROM combination drive for the Ultrabay Slim.

Issues

  • May have problems reading DVD+R/RW. (Drive does not report DVD+R/RW read capability.)

Linux support

If connected at boot time, the drive is normally /dev/sr0.

There is a BIOS setting that controls the actual speed of the drive ("high" or "low"). If the writing speed never reaches 16x while writing CD-Rs, make sure it is set to "high".
