2.2Ah version
It looks like there's indeed a 2.2Ah version. Check out this picture: FRU 08K8191, 2.2Ah. Did Lenovo reuse the FRU, or does the article page use the new FRU and old specs?

Actually I just looked at mine, and it says 2.2Ah just like the picture. Perhaps the specs on the IBM page are wrong?
Normally when they change even something small, at least the FRU changes.

Which IBM page?
--Thinker 23:04, 10 Nov 2005 (CET)
http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?sitestyle=ibm&lndocid=MIGR-46436

Odd, that page says "Li-Polymer" rather than "Li-Ion" and doesn't specify the FRU. Mysteries abound!

general hot-swapping question
That paragraph made me think: Is it possible to insert/remove the system battery while on mains? I somewhere (the IBM/Lenovo website?) stumbled over a manual with various instructions, including one that listed "remove the power cord" as one of the steps when removing/inserting the battery pack. But it sometimes would be nice to do so anyway, so does it work or will it ruin the hardware in some spectacular way?

I do it often. No problem whatsoever, on any ThinkPad model I've used (T43 included).

Thanks, with that reassurance I tried and it works without problems.
