What is SuSE?

SUSE Linux is one of the oldest commercial Linux distributions around. The company is based in Nürnberg, Germany and started distributing Linux in 1994.

As RedHat did before, SUSE decided to open up their distribution into a community based branch in 2005. SUSE Linux 10 was the first community developed SUSE release. The home of this branch is www.opensuse.org.
